Extensions, done the Tomboy way.

Extensions have gotten a bad rap — and honestly, we get why. Damaging installs, poor-quality hair, obvious unblended wefts. Too many women have walked away from extensions feeling like they had to choose between length and healthy hair.

At Tomboy, we built our entire approach around proving that doesn't have to be the trade-off. It starts with our Scalp-First philosophy: your natural hair and scalp come first, always. Every method we use, every placement decision we make, is filtered through one question — is this actually good for your hair? When it's done right, extensions shouldn't just look good. Your natural hair should come out of the process healthier than when it went in.

Handtied Extensions

"Handtied" isn't a method — it's a type of hair. Handtied wefts are collected strand by strand and stitched together by hand, forming an extremely fine, weightless track. We typically use 3-6 of these delicate handtied or micro wefts to build a single row of extensions, which gives us — and you — maximum control over weight, density, and customization.

Unlike traditional tape-in or bonded methods, handtied extensions involve no tape, no glue, no heat, no adhesive of any kind. Just silicone-lined beads and string. That's a big part of why they've become the gold standard in the industry. But not every handtied technique is created equal, which is why we're selective about the method we install.

OUR FOUNDATION

OUR CHOSEN METHODS

IBE is our proud method of choice for installing handtied wefts — a patented technique, the most requested handtied method on the market, and the original "flip up." It was designed to protect hair and scalp health across every texture and density, using precise sectioning, natural-fall placement, and flexible tension so the beads stay completely hidden and the blend between your extensions and your natural hair disappears.

Not every head of hair is built for handtied wefts — and that's exactly why we also offer K-tips. The method we choose is always based on your hair: its density, texture, and what it can healthily support. K-tips get the same Scalp-First treatment as everything else we install — placed with the same care for your scalp's health, and always custom colored to your natural shade.

K-Tips

Whichever method is right for you, the standard doesn't change.

Every set — handtied or K-tip — is custom colored, always. Because when the color match is exact and the placement is right, the result isn't "hair extensions." It's your hair, just better.

  • Your extensions don't read as extensions — they stay hidden and undetectable, even when the wind blows

  • Unlimited styling versatility, with no worrying about exposed tape or beads

  • No damage to your natural hair

  • Extreme comfort, day in and day out

  • Your best hair yet

Why is the placement and custom colorization so important?

  • Added length

  • Added fullness and volume

  • Lower-maintenance hair that holds its style for extra days between washes

  • Endless color possibilities — the true Pinterest-board hair you've been chasing

  • Extensions that work for your lifestyle, not the other way around
